What was once a farmer’s market…

What was once a farmer’s market is now Judy’s on Cherry, a beautifully renovated, Mediterranean-inspired fine dining restaurant in the heart of downtown Reading. At Judy’s you’ll bask in the warm glow of vaulted wooden ceilings, gorgeous appointments and relaxed, comfortable service. Judy’s hearth fired oven turns out everything from freshly baked focaccia bread to crispy, gourmet pizzas, pastas and tapas-like small plates.

Hearty winter appetizers include Cast Iron Skillet Spiced Baked Cheese, Lamb Meatballs with Mint and Pine Nuts in Romesco Sauce, and Baked Figs with Gorgonzola and Bacon. Seasonal new entrees items like Roasted Lamb Shanks with Saffron Couscous and Kumquat Sauce with Pomegranate, Pork Chop with Bell Pepper and Balsamico over Grilled Polenta, Vegan Roast of Wild Mushrooms, and Maple Syrup Mustard Glazed Salmon with Quinoa Brown Rice, Roasted Garlic Beets and Brussel Sprout Petals. Signature dishes include perennial favorites like Three Cheese Ravioli with Lobster and Tomato Vodka Rosa Sauce and Casuela Roast of Scallops over Caramelized Onions. For an impressive way to end the evening, Judy’s specializes in luscious homemade desserts and frothy cappuccinos. Gluten Free Chocolate Marquis and the newly added Chocolate Praline pudding are sure to delight the senses.

Reading native, Judy Henry, is the chef-owner and presides over daily operations like a proud mother hen. Henry has been the toast of the area restaurant scene since the summer of 2002 when she opened the southern European themed, Judy’s on Cherry. Before opening her own restaurants, Henry had made a name for herself with innovative cooking at The Peanut Bar and Restaurant, another local area landmark. Judy says she hopes “her unique restaurant gives people a reason to come back to downtown. She offers a one of a kind urban fine dining experience that the ‘burbs simply don’t have.”

Judy’s is conveniently located just two blocks from the Santander Center, 4 blocks from the Goggle Works and three blocks from The Santander Performing Arts Center in downtown Reading.

Also, be sure to check out our sister restaurant and pub, the Speckled Hen. Located next door in an authentically restored 18th century log house.

To All Our Loyal Friends and Customers

Judy and her staff are overjoyed to announce that Judy’s on Cherry has slowly and carefully begun the tedious process of planning to reopen the restaurant.  With your  safety, comfort and well being as our highest priorities, we look forward to welcoming you back for indoor dining at  reduced capacity sometime in mid September.

As we adjust to create an experience that is both memorable and in line with all current Covid Safety Practices, we appreciate your understanding that some of our amenities and offerings may be slightly different than usual.

On reopening, it is our intention to offer pre-ordered curbside pickup daily between 4:30 and 6 pm and dine-in beginning at 6 o clock. Our sister restaurant , The Speckled Hen will reopen on or about the 15th of October.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to fine tune and adjust to ensure a safe and successful re-entry for our staff and patrons. Our goal, as always is to deliver to our guests the same welcoming experience and high standards that you have come to appreciate at Judy’s on Cherry.

With Every Well Wish,
Judy and the Staff at Judy’s on Cherry
